The Expendables 3 is a 2014 American action film, that is directed by Patrick Hughes, and written by Creighton Rothenberger, Katrin Benedikt and Sylvester Stallone. The film is the third installment of The Expandable frenchise. The film features  Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Kelsey Grammer, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Glen Powell,Victor Ortiz, Robert Davi, Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford.

The Expendable 3  revolves around Stallone and Gibson’s characters.Gibson has leaved the character with the utmost perfection. Stallone is as usual in the mood of fighting and crushing the goons with his heavy biceps.

The story starts with a break-in into an ironclad train carrying the prisoner  in the deserts of an old Soviet bloc country, and ends in a fictional country called Uzmenistan populated only by a very sorry-looking army. The Expendables, led by the creaky Stallone, are sent around these places by Drummer (Ford), a man-of-few-words and dangerous smile. Drummer wants the Expendables to get him Stone banks (Gibson), an arms dealer and a war crime accused.

Stallone’s Barney is now hunts for a younger skillful lot that can help the old group of fighters. The audience will again get to see some terrible fighting scenes and to mellow the adventurous mood, there are gimmicks which let you smile.

The film has all the potential elements which are needed to make a film successful, but still the film fails in weaving a good adventurous story. The first half will keep you engrossed in the nutshell of the story, but second half will disappoint you. There was a lot of expectation from multifaceted Sylvester Stallone, but the actor could not live up with the expectation. The film is slightly encroaching and may give a headache with over the top action scenes.

It is a one time watch and people who don’t like action thriller can avoid this, but all the Sylvester fans will enjoy the flick. The makers of the film have decided to make the 4th instalment as well, hopefully it does not let us down.

Not the most expressive of actors, Stallone doesn’t move anything apart from his biceps. Director Hughes is brave though, going in several times for a close-up, at every chance to catch a misty eye.  All the action lovers are bound to watch the film, and if you are still finding a reason to watch this film, The Gibson can be the reason. The actor has precociously puled his character. The story could have been much better specially the Stallone’s part. The film is produced by Avi Lerner,Kevin King-Templeton,Danny Lerner,Les Weldon,John Thompson with the budget of $90 million. The film was released on 15 August in united states.
